In 1949, Simone de Beauvoir published "The Second Sex" (Le Deuxième Sexe), which was hailed as one of the foremost works on women throughout history.
In it, she stated, “One is not born, but rather becomes, a woman.” Not long after in the 1960s, women would join the workforce and a bigger handbag symbolised a newfound sense of independence, gradually replacing smaller accessories.
Today, handbags have become a daily necessity to carry everything that meets all the needs of every woman.
